Reunions and the Upper Peninsula

At the beginning of September, Aaron and I made a trip back to the US. It was our first time being back together in over a year. We spent two weeks there and boy were we busy! Between appointments, seeing friends and family, a baby shower, selling Aaron's truck, and a long weekend to God's Country (also known as the Upper Peninsula of Michigan), we barely had any downtime. But being back there made me realize that I miss Michigan much more than I thought.

A Wedding and 'Merica

It's been a while since we last posted, but there was a good reason for it. I promise. Aaron was in Washington until last Saturday and I was in Michigan this past weekend to two close friends tie the knot. I am so glad that I was able to be there to celebrate with them. Cari was a beautiful bride and Murray seemed so excited to be marrying the love of his life.

The other awesome part about this last weekend? Seeing my sisters and being in 'Merica! Some of them I had seen in the past couple of months, the others I hadn't seen in quite a while. I realized how much I miss them all and miss having friends close by

Our final day on the Lake Superior Diver dawned early. We left Windigo and had a five hour or so ride down the northwestern side of the island to the southern edge where we were scheduled to do two dives on the Chisholm engine.

Wednesday morning dawned bright an early. Our alarm was Captain Ryan playing "It's a Beautiful Morning " by the Rascals - loudly. By the end of the week, what once starts out as a a fun way to wake up quickly becomes the worst way ever. Ok, perhaps that's a bit of an exaggeration. Isle Royale - Day 2

Early on Tuesday morning, we woke up to the sky alight with an electrical storm. The sky was awesome to watch and the lightning lit everything up almost like daylight. And then then wind came. Followed closely by the rain. Even docked, the boat was rocking. Thankfully the storm was short-lived, but it ushered in much cooler weather and left some lingering wind making for a choppy day on the water.
