Bucket List: Visiting the Poseidon Factory in Gothenburg, Sweden

One of the items on our European Bucket List was the visit the Poseidon factory in Gothenburg, Sweden. Conveniently, we were already going to Sweden, so it was just a matter of strategically planning flights (which ended up being 3 one way tickets; to read about planning flights, visit this blog post). We left on Thursday night after work, flew to Gothenburg via Copenhagen. We spent the night in Gothenburg and Friday morning, jumped on a tram and headed to the factory.

Since moving to Germany, it has become my responsibility to book and arrange pretty much all of our travel. Ok, even in Michigan it was my responsibility, but we travel a lot more over here, so I've gotten a LOT more practice recently. Sometimes, one of the hardest parts of planning a trip is deciding where to go! Thankfully, whenever I am having ''trip block'' (kind of like writers block, #firstworldproblems), I take a look at our never ending Bucket List and pick something from there or browse Pinterest for some inspiration.

Überlingen, More to Bodensee Than Just Diving

After we were done diving last Saturday, we partook in a German tradition: Kaffee and Kuchen. Except that we didn't drink coffee, or eat cake for that matter. But, we did get something warm to drink and a snack. So, it kind of counts? Right? In any case, it turned out to be a great afternoon on Saturday and we were able to sit outside in the sun and just enjoy relaxing, like true Germans.

Dive Log : Bodensee

And another month down! I can't believe it's March already! Seriously, where is this year going?! I can't think of a better way to usher out one month and welcome the next better than diving, and so that's how we spent the weekend. Some friends of ours invited us to head down to Bodensee with them for a couple of weekend dives. Bodensee is the largest lake in Germany and the third largest in central Europe, and it is nestled in the foothills of the Alps.

9 Habits We Picked Up When We Moved to Germany

We have had no less than 5 people either share, comment, ask, or send us the link to this article about American habits that one girl lost when she moved to Germany. Most of the questions revolve around, ''Is it true?'' And both of us would say yes, especially regarding the parts about small talk and public nudity. We have pretty much lost all of those habits while living over here. Perhaps they're just in hibernation until we move back to the States. Only time will tell if we will eventually regain them.

Just in time for the weekend! Germany is generally thought of as the home of beer. Whether or not that is true is up for debate, but the fact is, Germans like their beer. And if you're in the western part of the country, in the wine regions, you will find that they also like their wine. Since we have been here, Aaron and I have been in multiple scenarios that involve Germans and alcohol. And it is from those scenarios that we have learned a few things that we would like to share with all of you, should you find yourself drinking with a German.
