A 10 Day Itinerary for Ireland with Optional Northern Ireland Extension

A 10 Day Itinerary for Ireland with Optional Northern Ireland Extension

I'm convinced Ireland is a beautiful country to visit any time of year. The wind-swept hills gently rolling through the country side, the steep cliffs plunging into the sea on the west coast, and the hundreds (literally) of castle ruins sprinkled everywhere lend the place a rugged, mystic quality. The tiny island, split between two countries, has so much to see and do, one could easily spend months, if not years or even a lifetime, exploring it. Alas, most of us do not have that luxury and must try to see what we can in the short amount of time we have available to us. Although we went to Ireland almost three and a half years ago, my sister recently visited this stunning country and asked me for some tips. Instead of keeping my advice to myself, I decided to publish it here to share with all of you. Enjoy and if you do make it to any of these places in Ireland, drop us a line in the comments and let us know what you thought!

The Ultimate Northern Italy Driving Tour

The Ultimate Northern Italy Driving Tour

When we found out we would be moving not to China as we originally thought, but back to the US, we knew we wanted to fit is as much last minute traveling as we could. Aaron had two weeks of vacation and the race was on to figure out how to spend it. We ended up deciding on a week in northern Italy driving through Austria to the Dolomites, visiting Venice, staying in Tuscany for a few days, hitting up Milan and back through Switzerland. I didn't think we would be returning to Italy quite so soon after we visited Rome, but I am so so glad we did. Northern Italy is beautiful and I absolutely fell in love with the country - something I was not expecting. And I really think that driving it was the best way to do this trip and see everything.

8 Day Itinerary for the Czech Republic

8 Day Itinerary for the Czech Republic

I like to think of the czech Republic as the gateway to Eastern Europe. It borders Germany, Austria, Poland, and Slovakia, and is the western-most of the former Eastern Bloc countries (well, with the exception of parts of Germany that were under USSR control). The small country has a unique blend of eastern and western European influences and makes for a perfect place to visit, especially if you want to get your feet wet in eastern Europe for the first time! They don't use the Euro and their currency has a very favorable exchange rate. That could change soon as they are bound to join the Eurozone and switch over to the Euro, so head there before that happens for the best deals! Anywho, here is a great itinerary for a week in beautiful Czech!

3 Days in Rome - Sample Itinerary

3 Days in Rome - Sample Itinerary

Rome is one of the most visited cities in Europe. It's, quite literally, ancient, with the current city built directly on top of Roman ruins thousands of years old. The city has seen everything from the growth, and collapse of one of the greatest empires in history, plagues, near abandonment, followed by regrowth. It;s often called the Eternal City, and for good reason. Rome is big like Paris and to fully explore the city would take weeks, if not months or even years. Most people don't have that kind of time though and spend only a few days in the city (we did). If you're planning to visit Rome, here is a sample itinerary to see the most of the city in a short amount of time.

48 Hours in London + Sample Itinerary

48 Hours in London + Sample Itinerary

London is huge. There are litereally hundreds of things to see and do in the city, and there really is something for everyone. From night ghost walks, to historical sites, to museums, plays, and shopping, there is something to tickle anyone's fancy in this city. It could easily take a week or more to do everything you want to in London, but sadly, Aaron and I only had 48 hours to do it all (or as much as we could). We researched things to do and see, prioritized them, and then planned. Sadly, there were some things we missed out on (Westminster and your ridiculously long line - I'm looking at you!), and I kind of felt like we were back and forth across the city. In retrospect, we could have timed things out a little better, but hindsight is 20/20. In an effort to save you from making the same mistakes that we did, below is a sample itinerary for you to use.
